Funding Board

The Funding Board is responsible for appropriating funds to student groups that are in accordance with the Funding Guidelines and any State or University policies. The Board is led by the Funding Board Chairperson who nominates members that must be confirmed by the Senate. Informational sessions for funding are held every week throughout the academic year.

Brien Buckman

Brien Buckman is the current Funding Board Chairman for the Haggerty/Albini administration. Brien has been involved in the Undergraduate Student Government since Day 1 of his UConn tenure. Brien served as Vice-Chair of the Funding Board his freshman year when he helped to administrate. In addition, Brien served as Chairman of Commuter Affairs, where he successfully advocated for commuter students. His activities included working with the Parking Advisory Committee to reevaluate parking and traffic on campus, working with Off-Campus Student Services to enhance commuter student life, and participating in the Mansfield Community-Campus Partnership. During what free time he has, Brien enjoys volunteering his time with different service organizations. Brien is a graduate of South Windsor High School in South Windsor, CT.

Yoana Yakova

Yoana Yakova is a senator for the College of Liberal Arts and Science for the 2009-2010 school year. Yakova is currently a sophomore majoring in Political Science and Philosophy. She served as the Northwest senator for the 2009 spring semester when she first became involved with the Undergraduate Student Government. Yoana is a member of the Funding Board and Promotion and Recruitment Committee. She is from Southport, CT and attended Fairfield Ludlowe High School. In her spare time she enjoys unique books, interesting get-togethers, hiking trails, driving with no destination, and diverse conversations.
