The Appeals Board hears all appeals from student organizations and/or area councils in regards to funding decisions made by the Funding Board or the Student Affairs Committee. The Appeals Board consists of the Comptroller, and two rotating members of the USG Judiciary, as decided by the Chief Justice. The guidelines of the Appeals Board, defined by USG Bylaw II, Section G, dictate under what conditions appeals can be filed. You can contact the board at appeals@usg.uconn.edu for an appeal.
Kayla Armando is a junior, double majoring in Political Science and History. Since joining USG in the fall of 2008 she has served as the West senator as well as the vice-chair of the Student Affairs committee and a member of the Promotion and Recruitment committee. She lives in a house by herself on a farm in Glastonbury, CT where she spends her days tending to goats, her favorite animal, and scooping ice cream at Robb's Farm Ice cream, which her family owns. She can eat a whole box of clementines in one sitting, enjoys walking along the beach, and loves to listen to 90s music. Outside of USG Kayla is a Bodywise spinning instructor, so come take her class!
Matthew Burrill, a junior majoring in actuarial sciences in the Honors Program, is the Comptroller of the Undergraduate Student Government. Matt has served for two years in USG in varying capacities, initially joining as an elected CLAS senator in October 2007. Matt worked on the Academic Affairs Committee throughout the 2007-2008 scholastic year and was re-elected to the CLAS senator seat in April 2008. Matt was then appointed Deputy Chief of Staff to Rob Puff for the Fall 2008 semester, aiding in program relations and direction of GUARD DOGS and the new program UC-SPAN. Matt's work on programs continued in the spring semester when he was promoted to Chief of Staff under President Zaritheny. He served by working exclusively with GUARD DOGS and UC-SPAN to better their programs on a whole. Finally, he was elected as Comptroller in April 2009.
