Joel Harris - President

Hey! My name is Joel Harris, and I'm running to be your next USG President. USG is an organization we all contribute to. If you look closely at your tuition bill, you'll see that each student pays $45 per semester for USG to represent your thoughts, needs, and dreams. Do you know where that money goes? Personally, I am tired of USG using student money on things other than our campus community. With your support, we can transform the nearly $2.5 million budget to serve the entire student body, not administrative overhead, but real programs that benefit you. I believe in broadening support for clubs to create the campus they want to see. What if, instead of warning emails being sent out in January, student organizations had the funding they needed to bring their visions to life. We’ll create initiatives for students to give back to our campus: sustainability projects, community partnerships, programs that make UConn a better place for everyone. I'll transform USG into an organization rooted in transparency, fiscal responsibility, and student empowerment, one that truly works for you. If you want your money to flow back to you, I'm ready to make that happen.
