Sean Dunn, External Affairs Director

Sean is a sophomore from Wethersfield, CT majoring in biomedical engineering with minors in political science and math. Sean is the Director of External Affairs and is passionate about motivating student civic engagement, implementing environmentally conscious policies, and improving upon campus mental health resources.

Outside of his role in USG, Sean is the corporate sponsor liaison for Engineers Without Borders, in the honors program, and is an active member of various on campus clubs.

Sean loves hiking, biking, skiing, going to the beach, photography and making memories with family and friends.

Mariam Vargas, Community Affairs Advocacy Coordinator

Mariam is a junior Political Science and Global Studies double major, minoring in Human Rights. Mariam is the Community Affairs Advocacy Coordinator for the External Affairs Committee in USG. Previously she was the ex officio senator for the Puerto Rican Latin American Center.She's very passionate about community service and is excited to kick off community affairs at USG with events focused on the well being of students inside and outside of the UConn campus as well as improvements to the Town of Mansfield and its needs.

Outside of USG, Mariam is the Co-President for the Dominican Student Association, a BOLD Scholar, a member of the AEI Executive Council at UConn and volunteers for the Windham Heights Afterschool program and UCMUN.

Mariam likes to spend time traveling, especially home to the Dominican Republic, reading thrillers, working out, playing or watching soccer and cooking!

Jessica Lockwood, Student Development Director

Jess is a senior Communication and Business Management dual degree student who currently holds a position as the Student Development Advocacy Director.

Her work in USG is motivated by her goal to help students succeed, in and outside of the classroom.

Outside of USG, Jess is on the executive boards for Business Management Society, Residence Hall Association, and Student Alumni Association.She also works at the Center for Career Development as a peer resume critiquer.

Jess’s hobbies include reading, going on walks, and eating more food than she can handle.

Sarah Parkhurst, Public Relations Manager

Sarah is a senior Communications major who recently joined the USG Communications team this fall, serving as the organization's Public Relations Manager.

Her efforts this year with USG are driven by her passions for PR and organizational branding, and are strengthened by her determination to serve the undergraduate student body as their leading voice.

Apart from USG, Sarah devotes herself to serving as the PR Chair for Huskies for Haiti, an on-campus nonprofit club benefitting the wellbeing of Haitians in joint with the Haitian Health Foundation; the Communication major advisor for UConn's exploratory major program, The Major Experience; and as a sister of the Panhellenic Chapter Alpha Epsilon Phi.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking and collecting records to add to her vinyl collection.

Ahnecia Edouard-Gary, Multimedia Specialist

Ahnecia is a senior Allied Health Science major and minor in Entrepreneurship who was holds a position as the Multimedia Specialist.

Her dedication to USG is driven by her passion for capturing the defining moments that illuminate campus events, ensuring lasting memories at UConn.

Outside of USG, Ahnecia is the Vice Chair of General Operations & Marketing of SUBOG’s Outreach Committee. Ahnecia’s hobbies include making music, traveling, and reading horror fiction.

Andy Lanza , Chief of Staff to the President

Andy is a Junior Education and History major in the NEAG School of Education.

Andy began his first two years at UConn Hartford where he was elected student body president his freshman year, and re-elected his sophomore year. Andy’s work in USG is motivated by his goal of improving the lives of people around him through kindness and laughter.

Outside of USG, Andy is an intern with the Center for Career Development. Andy’s hobbies include playing guitar, cooking, working out, and reading.
