MESSAGE FROM CANDIDATE

My name is Aditi Thaker and I am running for the position of CLAS Senator in the Undergraduate Student Government. I am currently a freshman pre-med majoring in Biological Sciences. I am a member of the Model United Nations Club (UCMUN) and also work as a Research Assistant in the Communications and Development Lab here at UConn.

As a proponent of inclusivity in the representation of our student government, I believe that what we see should reflect the social and academically diverse trends within our student community. Through my participation in different student organizations and interaction with my peers from different backgrounds during my stay at UConn, I have gained a range of knowledge about our community's issues and desires. My commitment to serving as a competent and effective representative for all students is rooted in my experience as a prefect as well as my later role as the President of the Student Government in my high school. These positions have honed my leadership skills and instilled in me the importance of inclusive decision-making processes. I promise that as a senator, we will work together to build an atmosphere that encourages academic excellence and addresses the wants of all students.
