Jibreel Akbar is the Director of Student Services and also serves as a Multicultural and Diversity Senator. He is a junior pre-law psychology and political science major with a minor in cognitive science. He is fueled by a strong passion for advocacy, social justice, and student wellbeing which led him to his role. He is passionate about making sure underrepresented groups are seen and heard.
Jibreel hopes to further the Student Services Committee’s goals of fighting for student’s needs and ensuring a safe, equitable experience for all students. As director, he looks forward to helping provide students access to the resources they need for personal success. He is also involved on campus in the Special Program in Law, Honors, and as the Events Coordinator for the Bangladeshi Student Association. Outside of USG, Jibreel enjoys watching movies, working out, traveling, and trying new things with friends.

Eva-LaRue is a pre-med senior majoring in Allied Health with a concentration in Health Sciences and minors in Chemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology. As the Deputy Director of Student Services, she is dedicated to student advocacy, health equity, and mental health. Her experience includes research in chemical synthesis and mindfulness-based stress reduction interventions. With her honors thesis, she hopes to contribute to advancements in biomedical polymer synthesis.
She is also a volunteer firefighter, EMT, and nursing assistant at a Connecticut hospice. Additionally, she is involved with SHaW Mental Health as a peer educator, the University Health Leaders, UConn TIP, the Honors Program, and the Adopt-A-Health District internship.
Outside of academics, Eva enjoys writing, acting, and hiking. Her ultimate goal is to establish a hospice facility that combines medical advancement with compassionate end-of-life care for patients and their families.
