Ex-Officio

What are Ex-Officio Seats?

Ex-Officio Senators are members of the Undergraduate Student Senate who are appointed by nineteen clubs/organizations that have been selected to have a vote. These seats are given to organizations of students from underrepresented identities on campus, including the Cultural Centers, First Gen Society, Transfer Student Association, and UConn Recovery Community. In the Senate, Ex-Officio members have full voting rights and serve as a liaison between USG and the organization they represent. Any student group interested in holding an Ex-Officio Senate position should attend an Internal Affairs meeting or contact the Deputy Speaker (deputyspeaker@usg.uconn.edu).
