My name is Aemun Burhan, and I’m a freshman from Bristol, CT, studying pre-law. As a member of the Senate, I am eager to advocate for policies that enhance student resources and support academic excellence. My goal is to promote initiatives that improve campus life, foster inclusivity, and address the concerns of my peers. I’m committed to representing our diverse student body and ensuring our voices are heard in decision-making processes.

As an academic Senator representing the students of the Class of Liberal Arts and Sciences, I hope to give voice to any and all concerns or injustices regarding our education to ensure our academic success! I am new to this position but am excited for what changes can be accomplished!
Ryan M. Engles
Year: Sophomore
Major: Political Science
Ryan is a sophomore studying political science. With a strong passion for advocacy and civic engagement, Ryan hopes to expand student political engagement on and off-campus and continue to represent CLAS students and their interests on a broader scale. Besides USG, Ryan serves as Alumni Chairman of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and is a member of Law Society, Historical Society, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Ryan has always been deeply intrigued with government and advocacy. He currently serves as the youngest Commissioner in the Town of Westbrook, Connecticut and the youngest member of the Westbrook Democratic Town Committee, being appointed at the age of 18. Driven by his interest in advocacy, Ryan most recently founded the Connecticut Youth Political Advocacy Center (CYPAC), a non-partisan civic organization dedicated to CT young people’s civic engagement, participation, and advocacy. The organization boasts over 80 members from across our state and university system.
