MESSAGE FROM THE CANDIDATE

I'm running for Chief Diversity Officer because my experience and proven leadership can contribute to creating a more genuinely welcoming and inclusive environment for all UConn students. I am currently an appointed member of the Diversity and Outreach Commission, where the commission works to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion through various programs and initiatives. My experience as a College of Engineering Senator (Fall 2022-Spring 2024) has allowed me to champion student needs and bridge diverse communities within and beyond the College of Engineering. As University Senate Parliamentarian, I have demonstrated my commitment to effective governance and fostering respectful dialogue within and beyond formal meetings at the University level. Furthermore, as Hillel’s Senator, I actively collaborate with the Dean of Students' Office and UConn Faith to connect and collaborate with various faith and cultural groups. With this combined experience, I'm confident in my ability to advocate for initiatives that promote understanding, respect, and belonging, to bridge the gap between underrepresented groups and USG, and to foster a positive and inclusive work environment within the organization and beyond. I'm dedicated to ensuring UConn's diverse and faith communities can be showcased in productive ways as we strive toward the goal of One UConn.
