Andy is a senior studying Education and History. Andy has been heavily involved in USG for over three years now. Andy started as President of the USG at the UConn Hartford Campus and then was hired as Chief of Staff to the President last year. This year Andy was elected Chief Justice. Outside of USG Andy works for UConn Football! Andy also loves to play guitar, cook, and go for walks.

Major: Political Science

Layan is currently a freshman majoring in Political Science. Serving as a Justice for her first year, she hopes to make helpful contributions and recommendations to improve USG. Outside of USG, Layan works for the Connecticut Justice Alliance (CTJA); essentially advocating for an end to the criminalization of youth. As a Justice Advisor with CTJA, she is responsible for grant writing, meeting with lawmakers, and attending public policy trainings. In her free time, Layan enjoys reading, traveling to different countries, and spending time with friends & family.

Kara is a junior studying Allied Health Science with a minor in WGSS. She has a strong passion for genetics and community building, Kara has been actively involved in USG, Hall council and the Rainbow center. As a justice, Kara hopes to help USG run smoothly behind the scenes with her fellow justices. Outside of being a student & justice, she likes to bake, listen to music, hang out with friends, and travel. 🙂

I am a senior pursuing a dual degree in Political Science and History. I have a strong passion for helping raise the concerns of marginalized communities particularly in areas where they don’t have representation. I have been actively involved with IRIS which is a refugee settlement non-profit organization and am constantly helping serve our community. As a student justice, I hope to hear the voices of my community at UConn and help to them achieve what they deserve. Outside of USG, I am co-captain of a Bollywood fusion dance team, a director for Civic Engagement in Community Outreach and External Affairs Coordinator at UConn College Dems.
