Kayla DeLuca - Academic (CLAS)

My name is Kayla DeLuca, and I am running for re-election to represent the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences in the Undergraduate Student Government. During my time in USG, I served on the Academic Affairs committee, where I helped plan access-focused events such as the School Supply Drop, and advocated for more equitable policies, like test-optional admissions. As a first-generation student actively working in the college access field, I recognize the institutional and systemic barriers many students face in higher education. I believe UConn has a responsibility to not only embrace diversity, but also actively address the barriers students face throughout their academic experience. I am committed to being an active voice for CLAS students and advocating for change that benefits the student body as a whole. With your support, I look forward to continuing my work in USG and fostering a caring, connected, and inclusive campus community.
