Syna Patel - Multicultural and Diversity

Hello! My name is Syna Patel, and I am running for Multicultural and Diversity Senator because I believe student voices should be at the center of student government. During my time at UConn, I’ve seen how background, culture, and access can shape how connected or represented students feel on campus.

Last fall, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, an forgettable experience that pushed me outside my comfort zone and helped me better understand what it means to learn new systems, cultures, and communities. Being in an unfamiliar environment helped make me more aware of how important inclusion, support, and clear communication are.

As a senator, I want to bring that perspective into my work by listening closely to students, collaborating with cultural organizations, and advocating for more access to resources and opportunities. I am approachable, committed, and ready to serve with empathy and intention. I would be honored to represent UConn as a Multicultural and Diversity Senator.
