Kiara Kelly - Multicultural and Diversity

Hi everyone! My name is Kiara Kelly, and I’m running for USG Multicultural and Diversity Senator. I’m a Human Rights and Political Science student on the pre-law track. I use she/her pronouns, and like our university, I am a mix of identities, Jamaican and Canadian American. As a first-generation college student and the daughter of an immigrant, I understand the importance of minority voices and the challenges that come with that, especially when there’s no one to stand up for them. The college experience isn’t meant for one group of people, but for various groups of people to have one immersive experience. As USG Multicultural and Diversity senator, I intend on making all voices heard and help create a sense of community for all religions, nationalities, ethnicities, cultures, etc. If chosen, I promise to do my best to be a representative of the people and for the people.
