Questions define who I am, and I've learned that the most meaningful questions lead to new lines of academic and intrapersonal inquiry. Throughout my time at UConn, I have built a strong academic, professional, and personal foundation through experiences and leadership opportunities that I am humbled and honored to have been a part of. Specifically, the questions I ask have propelled me to seek these extracurricular opportunities, as they serve as outlets to exercise my critical thinking, provide mentorship, and promote others’ well-being. My approach to questioning draws me to become an Academic Senator. I am immersed in my academics and understand the student body’s thoughts and concerns, including non-academic matters. For example, as a member of the CLAS Student Leadership Board, I have actively listened to and addressed students’ thoughts through programming. As an Academic Senator, I will represent the student body by acting as a conduit for students to feel represented through intentional listening, asking thoughtful questions, and bringing raw student perspectives into academic decision-making so students have a say in how their undergraduate experience is governed.
