Katherine Gutierrez
My name is Katherine Gutierrez, I use she/her/ella pronouns. I am a First-gen Latina Honors student in the Special Program in Law double majoring in Political Science and Human Rights in my third year. I am founder and President of Alcanzando el Mismo Sueño at UConn, which supports our immigrant community and educates our students through community partnered workshops. I’m a current Newman Civic fellow, in my fellowship I am leading a campus-wide coalition on Immigration with other universities across the nation. I also serve as Committee Chair for the Scholars Collective as a Day of Pride Scholar, and I am an Honors Guide for Peer Success (GPS).
As a First-gen en Latina, I understand how many underrepresentation communities feel at UConn and, I would be honored to be elected to serve on USGs Senate as Multicultural Diversity Senator.
