Damian Howson - Multicultural and Diversity

Hi Huskies! I’m Damian (he/him), a freshman student majoring in Environmental & Natural Resource Economics and Geography. Like you, I possess a variety of identities that come together to form me! For me, that includes being the son of an immigrant, being a part of the many students facing struggles with ADHD, and being a member of the LGBTQ+ community. If elected as a USG Multicultural & Diversity Senator, I will aim to continue and grow outreach efforts in the realm of diversity across the many aspects of students’ lives–whether that be cultural/religious communities, student organizations/Greek life, or academic disciplines. To address this, I would listen to student voices, use clear communication and collaboration with other Senators, and assist in the Diversity & Outreach Committee of USG. In an extremely divisive and volatile time for diversity in our country, I would do whatever I can as one of your MCD Senators to ensure UConn progresses as a beautifully diverse, safe, and just community for all students.
