Vedika Patel - Multicultural and Diversity

Every student deserves to feel represented, connected, and supported at UConn. As a candidate for the Multicultural and Diversity Senate seat, I am committed to helping make that a reality. As an Indian-American student, I understand how challenging it can sometimes feel to navigate spaces while still finding your sense of belonging. Those experiences have motivated me to help create environments where every student feels supported and encouraged to get involved. Because of this, I am committed to focusing on advocacy, accessibility, and outreach.
If elected, I plan to work with multicultural organizations to create networking events that bring students from different communities together, helping them build connections, mentorship opportunities, and leadership pathways. I also plan to advocate for clearer promotion of campus resources, scholarships, and involvement opportunities so that students from underrepresented backgrounds, including international students adjusting to a new environment, feel welcomed and supported. In addition, I will organize student-driven discussions where students can directly share concerns and ideas that can be brought to the Senate for action.
