Dave Silvestri - Academic (Engineering)

Hey everyone, my name is Dave, and I’m running for re-election as your USG Engineering Senator. During my first term, I worked to serve the College of Engineering by protecting key partnerships and serving on the Academic Affairs Committee, where I helped plan student-focused events and contributed to advising reform efforts.

My priority as senator is straightforward: ensuring engineering students are heard, represented, and supported. I want to hear directly from individual students about what’s working, what isn’t, and where we can do better. Whether it’s academics, advising, facilities, or professional development, I’m committed to advocating for practical solutions that meaningfully improve the student experience.

I’ve spent my first term doing exactly that, and I’m ready to continue the work. If re-elected, I’ll keep showing up, listening, and working as hard as you do to make UConn better.
