MESSAGE FROM THE CANDIDATE

Hey Huskies, my name is Alan Cavagnaro! I am a junior double-majoring in Political Science and Urban Community Studies while enrolled in the UConn SPP Fast-track program. I am honored to be running for the Undergraduate Student Government Comptroller position for the upcoming term. I hope to extend the great efforts made by our incumbent Comptroller, but with a new vision for growth.

We have far too many bureaucratic policies for RSO leaders to discern. We need to cut red tape to increase transparency and accessibility to the student body for funding requests as well as reporting inventory. We have to do our best to incentivize organizations to purchase eco-friendly products through policy and ensure we fully fund our RSOs to give them the necessary resources to succeed.

I bring years of policy and leadership experience as an elected Planning and Zoning Commissioner from my hometown and as the Campaign Coordinator for a statewide policy non-profit. Additionally, I was Treasurer of a non-profit where we were tasked to comply with 501(c)(4) tax filing status and I currently serve as a Commuter Senator in the USG Senate.
