Fellow Huskies! My name is Michaela Chigwedere, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Chief Diversity Officer (CDO). As a dedicated and hardworking student, I am passionate about promoting success and positive change at the University of Connecticut. Throughout my first two semesters, I have consistently demonstrated my commitment to our community, whether through academic excellence, involvement in student organizations [UCONN Mock Trial Society, Alpha Omicron Pi, UCONN Concert Choir], or volunteering [Huskython]. As your CDO, I will work tirelessly to ensure that every student has the resources and support they need to thrive. I believe in the power of collaboration and will actively seek your input to address the issues that matter most to you. As a black student and first-generation American, I want to create a more inclusive, supportive, and dynamic campus environment for the entire student body.
