MESSAGE FROM THE CANDIDATE:

My name is Phoenix Harper, and I would be honored to serve as Chief Diversity Officer. Over the past year, I have had the privilege of working under the Chief Diversity Office, learning the entirety of this role. This opportunity has strengthened my passion for serving the student body more equitably. My campaign is built on the foundation of equity and unity. I want to strive to provide every student with the resources they need to succeed, regardless of their identity and unite our student body in a manner that doesn’t merely “accept” our differences, but embraces them! As your DEI Advocacy Coordinator, I worked to make this vision a reality by researching and providing scholarships for students from all demographics, bringing in speakers from diverse backgrounds, collaborating with the university’s Chief Diversity Officer, and hosting events that promote unity and inclusivity. My leadership strategy is rooted in listening to the voices of students and then working to give them exactly what they want and need!
