MESSAGE FROM CANDIDATE

Ryan is a dedicated public servant, both on and off-campus. He served as an Academic Senator last semester, representing CLAS. He supported key legislation, such as the support for the university taking steps to decrease campus emissions. Besides USG, Ryan serves as the Vice President of the North Campus Hall Council and is a member of UConn Law Society, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. In his hometown, Ryan serves in a variety of functions in his town government. First off, he is the youngest commissioner in his town, serving a 2-year term on the Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Commission, working to mitigate the effects of human development on wetlands. Ryan is also serving as a Youth Outreach Advisor for the Westbrook Coastal Resiliency Committee, a government body dedicated to preserving the town’s coastline. Lastly, Ryan is a member of the Westbrook Democratic Town Committee, assisting with social media engagement and canvassing. Last September, Ryan founded the Connecticut Youth Political Advocacy Center (CYPAC), a nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to advocating for CT young people at the state and local levels. In turn, Ryan is familiar with public service, and is prepared to serve the CLAS community again.
