MESSAGE FROM CANDIDATE

Hi everyone! My name is Shahad and I’m running to be one of your CLAS Senators.

In this position, I plan to propose legislation to improve the academic/housing misconduct process, specifically requiring students to be informed of potential violations and training peer mentors to guide students through the investigation process. I also plan to advocate for increasing funding for public education and petitioning the state of Connecticut to provide greater support for UConn.

A bit about me: I’m an Economics major in the Special Program in Law, and have taken on leadership positions in a number of student orgs, including BuckShip Hall Council, DECA, and Economics Society. I also work as a telephone interviewer for the Quinnipiac University Poll. In my free time I enjoy painting, playing volleyball, and being a Vogue runway model.
