Hello everyone! My name is Kaela and I’m running for Senator to represent the School of Nursing in the Undergraduate Student Government. As you all know, nursing is not the easiest major. As nursing students we must balance our demanding coursework and clinical rotations all while maintaining our own well-being. I committed to making sure all nursing students' voices are heard and that we have the resources and support we need to excel. If elected, my priorities will include: Improving Mental Health Resources: Nursing school can be stressful, and as student nurses we can not take care of others without first taking care ourselves. I would advocate for counseling and stress management programs specifically for nursing students. Strengthening Peer Support Systems: I’ll advocate for better peer mentorship programs and student support networks that allow us to share resources and advice. This includes more mentorship programs for students who do not know what to expect or plan for throughout their time at UConn. I’m passionate about making the nursing student experience better, and I would be honored to represent you. Thank you for your support!
