I want to run for an Academic Senate position through CLAS in the USG because I want to be a voice for the many viewpoints of people within the UConn community, especially those within the CLAS, helping those to have positive experiences and build a more inclusive and engaging atmosphere on campus. I want to learn more about how important decisions are made through USG and the roles and delegated tasks needed within a student government. By being a part of the Senate, it would be a great opportunity for me to gain more experience collaborating with peers by learning about new ideas from other USG members, in addition to sharing my own ideas. It would feel very rewarding for me to be able to play a role in shaping the student experience at UConn and the CLAS.
